Dodgers go old in the World Series Game 2 as they are now 2-0 to Red Sox at the Fenway Park. No team has been able to make a comeback from a defeat of 2 games in the World Series for past 22 years.
Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers said after Wednesday night defeat to Red Sox by 4-2 said, “It is going to get warmer and hopefully pour bats will also get warmer.”
Dodgers have not played a game below the temperature of 58 degrees this year and now they started the World Series in 53 degrees temperature which they lost to Red Sox by 8-4. In Game 2 the temperature was 46 degrees at the start and the bats of Dodgers’ players were also cold. Their last 16 hitters retired in order.
Dave Roberts; Manager of Dodgers said, “its the first time we have paled in a weather like this. San Francisco is a little bit off but not like this. Being in the bullpen with a heater is an adjustment but to be out there on the field you have to stay hot. It is a very hard challenge for us”.
Ryan Madson of the Dodgers also commented on the cold late October weather in the northeast, “The ball is not going where I want it. In the first game night the ball was moving to the left and last night it was moving to the high right”.
Dodges coach; Rick Honeycutt was also furious over the extreme weather conditions as he said, “Brutal, pretty brutal. What I do not understand is as for how the baseball is allowing this. You got the rubber right over you and the people literally standing right over you.”
Dodgers are planning to shuffle up in the Game 3 of the World Series. They are planning to win at least 2 games to make it even with the Boston Red Sox but at the moment there is no sign that they can warm up to this task.
