Dwayne Wade, for whom this is going to be his last season for his legendary career, is certainly enjoying it very well.
Wade, the three-time NBA champion who also hit a last-minute wild buzzer shot against Golden State Warriors, has now swapped jerseys with his opponent after the game. Usually, jerseys are swapped between big name players or a close friend, but this was not the case on Monday night.
After Miami Heat’s one-point win over the Atlanta Hawks, Wade swapped his jersey with the rookie guard of Ha3wks; Kevin Huerter to make the moment more special. Many people are asking why did Wade exchange jerseys with Huerter, well the answer is that Huerter grew up idolizing and watching Wade playing. Huerter also wears No. 3 jersey because of Wade and he actually surprised Wade by asking him for the swap.
After swapping jerseys, Wade explained,
“Earlier in the year, a good friend told me about (Huerter) when he was younger that he used to wear my shoes and the No. 3 because of me, he looked up to me. So I knew I was going to surprise the last time we played them but I really like his game. Since preseason when we played him to all the way up to now he’s gotten so much better. So from one No. 3 to another, I thought I’d switch jerseys with him.”
