Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown made a decision to experiment with his team’s line up on Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. If the game is any indication, Brown’s experiment was a success.
The 76ers led for the game throughout the night as they rolled in for a 121-105 victory over the LA Lakers.
Joel Embiid led the 76ers with his 28 points and 11 rebounds while Jimmy Butler in his first game as the team’s point guard scored 20 points and Ben Simmons scored his 19 points for the team.
Embiid, who is in his NBA leading 34th game where he scored 20 points or more with 10 boards in a game, said, “I think, Jimmy did an amazing job tonight as he made everything open for us. We still need to work on our stuff to get better, but it is a great start.”
Brown talking about the sudden change in lineup said that he wanted to know the ability of his team more. He said, “There were many good things that came out of it. There were thing that will help us to win. It also gives us more knowledge as to how to win the games.”
As for the LA Lakers, they were led by Brandon Ingram who scored his career high of 36 points for the Lakers who are not only missing LeBron James but now also Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma.
Ingram said, we definitely allowed them to gain momentum in the start. We fought back but they had a pretty good rhythm throughout the match.”
Up next, Philadelphia 76ers will play against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night while Los Angeles Lakers will face the Los Angeles Clippers as a visiting team on Thursday night at the Staples Center.
