Eric Reid; former safety of San Francisco 49ers signed a deal with Carolina Panthers

Eric Reid once again joins the NFL as he signed a one year contract with Carolina Panthers.

Eric Reid became the free agent in March of 2018 after spending five seasons as Safety player for San Francisco 49ers.

Reid earlier in May filed a grievance letter with NFL that the team owner and the league itself colluded in effort to sabotage his career and employment due to his protest activities.

Reid along with quarterback Colin Kaepernick was suspended from NFL due to their protest during the anthem before the opening of NFL games. Their protest was to raise social awareness as well as racial injustice.

Mary Hurney; General manger of Panthers said that, “it was the football decision that has been approved by new owner David Tepper. Eric ahs started his career as a star safety player and has played at high levels of NFL throughout his career. After we placed the safety Da’Norris Searcy on injured reserve; me and head Coach Ron Rivera discussed our options. Eric made on top of our list of choices.”

“Eric is a physical safety with good ball skills and playing abilities.”

Panthers’ next game is at home against New York Giants on 7th October, 2018.
