Chelsea has been drawn out to face the Dynamo Kiev for the last 16 of the Europa League while arsenal is set to play absent the French Club Rennes without their suspended player Alexandre Lacazette on Friday.
Currently, both of these London clubs are out of the top four spots in the Premier League. This is why Champion League has awarded the over to Europa League as the winner of the Europa League will have the chance o return to the elite championship.
Chelsea who has previously won the Europa League back in 2013 has fallen down to the sixth spot in the Premier League. They have also been knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United earlier this week on Monday.
Another severe blow was suffered by Chelsea as FIFA banned the rule of signing the players until 2020 offseason which breaches the rules covering young players.
On Friday, the UEFA announced their judgment that Lacazette is going to serve an additional two-game ban for swinging his elbow at the opponent during the last 16 games at BATE Borisov. Lacazette had already been suspended for the second leg on Thursday.
The other matchups will be Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Inter Milan; Dinamo Zagreb vs. Benfica; Napoli vs. Salzburg; Valencia vs. Krasnodar; and Zenit St. Petersburg vs. Villarreal.
The first legs are scheduled for playing on March 7th while the game returns back on March 14th.
As for the final, it is set to be played in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 29th.
