Floyd Mayweather; I never agreed to an official bout in Japan

Recently Floyd Mayweather announced his fight with the 19 years old Kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa to be held in Japan. Now three days later, the 41 years old world-renowned boxing champion wrote on his Instagram “I never agreed to an official bout in Japan”.

Mayweather also wrote in his post that the fight was presented to him as an exhibition fight which was to be displayed in front of a group of wealthy spectators. The fighter was to be selected by RIZIN Fighting Federation. He also wrote that fight was only for three rounds with three minutes apiece.

Mayweather wrote in his post, “the exhibition was previously presented as a “Special Bout” that was for entertainment purposes only. There was no intention of presenting this fight as neither an official one nor it was decided that it would be televised worldwide. Once I and my team arrived at the scene we were completely derailed with the new direction this fight was going towards. We should have had put a stop to it”.

Speaking to his fans, he wrote, “I apologize to my fans that were fed with this misleading information announced during this press conference. I assure you all that I too was blindsided by the arrangements that were made without my consent”.

The date and location of the Fight have already been decided and finalized by RFF. As for any repose related to Mayweather’s post, RFF has not acknowledged or issued any response on any of their official platforms.
