Floyd Mayweather puts an end to comeback talks saying ‘I will not return to boxing’

Floyd Mayweather has put an end to the hopes of the boxing fans with a statement about his return to the boxing from retirement as he said that he will not be going back to the ring for protecting his health.

There had been rumors for lucrative rematches for Floyd Mayweather with either his longtime rival Manny Pacquiao or Saul Canelo Alvarez. All these rumors had raised hopes amongst the fans of the 12 times world champion.

But Floyd Mayweather, who had his last fight back in 2017 where he defeated the MMA fighting star Connor McGregor, he said, “I had many calls to get back to the ring but for me, my health is my real wealth. Boxing is a very brutal sport. In the past few years, a great number of boxers have died within the squared ring. You have got to know when it is time to hang the gloves. I had a great career and that is it.”

Previously Floyd Mayweather had 2 retirements with the first one being in 2007 and then again when he retired back in 2015. However, both these times, he made a comeback to the ring.

But this time, the 42 years old boxer says that the future for him is now only in the exhibition fights like the one earlier from January this year where he demolished Tenshin Nasukawa, a kickboxer of Japan in only 3 minutes.

Floyd Mayweather said, “I will still be traveling and doing exhibition matches. I am making great money doing these exhibitions about 10 to 20 million dollars. I think I am making more money than most fighters make while fighting.’

Floyd Mayweather has taken with him an unblemished career record of 50-0 and now says that he is only focused on his other projects which include his boxing gym chain and the promotion company.
