With their upcoming 7 of the 8 games coming up against the opponents of Pacific Division, the NHL team Arizona Coyotes knew that they had to make a solid statement absent team like Calgary Flames as they are about to start their divisional matches.
Darcy Kuemper, the goalkeeper for the Arizona Coyotes was sure that he would make this solid statement for the divisional opponents.
He not only helped save 37 shots of Flames in the shut out win by 3-0 for the Arizona Coyotes but was also responsible for enticing a fight that turned to a brawl against the Flames. During this brawl, he was slammed onto the ice.
Johnny Gaudreau, the forward for Flames first did a cross-check on Coyotes Jason Demers to slam him on ice and then continued to shove Gaudreau a few moments after that. After Demers was downed, other teammates like Matthew Tkachuk start throwing in jabs as the play continued.

Talking about the brawl, Tkachuk said, “I first thought that Johnny might have had a little elbow to a late hit but then I realized he got cross-checked in the back. I did not saw the replay but he did seem to go down easy on the ice. We did not like that one bit.”
Kuemper was not willing to see getting jumped out so he placed Tkachuk in a chokehold and then lift him off of his feet and slammed onto the ice.
This then started a hullabaloo among the players on the ice rink and then Tkachuk got free and started punching everyone in the sight which included a hit on his own childhood friend named Clayton Keller, the winner for the Arizona Coyotes.
Still, this incident seemed to be more of a message to other teams than a brawl.
