James Harden, the star player of the Houston Rockets has once again a super game on Sunday night as he scored 40 points for the Rocket’s comeback win over the Orlando Magic.
However, it was not points but the defense from Harden who blocked three shots against the Magic’s 7-footer Nikola Vucevic that the head coach Mike D’Antoni was raving about.
D’Antoni said, “I just told Harden that they have voted him in the wrong place. They have placed him as the Guard in the Al-Star Game, instead, he should be Center. This is what Harden really is. He is a point center and his defense is also good in the post. He is right behind Eric Gordon which is really great.”
Harden scored 40 points which included his five critical shots down the stretch that game Rockets a lead to win the game against Magic by 103-98 on Sunday night.
With this, the streak of the reigning MVP champ has extended to 23 games where he scored 30 or more points. With this, he is also the fourth in the NBA history to have such streaks. Other three streaks are held by Wilt Chamberlain.
In addition to his 40 points, Harden had 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the night and he has scored 40 or more points in the 12 of his last 17 games. These games also include his franchise record of 61 points that he made earlier this weekend against the New York Knicks.
As for Orlando Magic, they were led by Aaron Gordon who scored 23 points for the Magic. With this loss, Orlando Magic have now lost six of their last 7 games.
Rockets also have a strong game with a great addition like Kenneth Faried who fished for the night with his 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
Up next, Houston Rockets will host a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night while Orlando Magic will host a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
