Hopman Cup Roger Federer beats Cameron Norrie

Roger Federer began his season at Hopman Cup in Perth with a thrilling victory over Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie by 6-1 and 6-1.

  

On the Saturday night game of tennis, Great Britain made a winning start of the season but they suffered defeat by Switzerland on Sunday after Roger Federer managed to win the opening match of the rubber singles in just 57 minutes.

37 years old Swiss player is warming up for his upcoming Australian Open, a tormented which he has won two times in the past.

Brit did manage to save two set points in the sixth game before opening his account for the match. In the next set, he earned a pair of break points but Federer responded well and close d out the set.

The same thing went again in the second set as Norrie was unable to win over the World no. 15 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece on Saturday’s match.

Federer said, “This was a great start here and it’s obviously a long way from here to Melbourne. It is a nice that I am feeling good of how I played the game against Norrie. I was not missing any of my rhythms and the conditions for the game were perfect. I was happy with all the aspects of my game. All in all, it was a great match for me”.
