Indian Wells; Serena Williams retires from her match against Garbine Muguruza

The match between Serena Williams and Garbine Muguruza ended with Serena Williams retiring from the match willingly after she was feeling extreme dizziness as well as extreme Fatigue in Indian Wells.

Garbine Muguruza was already winning the match by 6-3 and 1-0 when Williams decided to withdraw from the third round match of the Indian Wells.

Williams earlier had gone on to win 3 games in a row but then lost 6 games straight. After that she called out for her trainer. Serena made a comeback for the second set but in the need this set was a short live one.

Serena, the 23 times Grand Slam champion said, “Prior to the match, I was not feeling great as I normally do. As the match progressed I happened to get worse with every passing second. I was feeling extreme dizziness and fatigue. By my score, it might be obvious that I was doing well but I was still not feeling well at the physical level. I will now start focusing my strength on getting better and to prepare for the upcoming Miami pen.”

As for the Men’s draw, both Rodger Federer and Rafael Nadal have cruised into the round of 32.
