JD NTXGEN: Fabio Wardley gets a third-round stoppage victory over Dennis Lewandowski

On the Friday night’s JD NTXGEN undercard fight between Fabio Wardley and Dennis Lewandowski held in Nottingham Arena, Wardley managed to extend his undefeated career record with a stoppage victory.

Heavyweight prospect, Wardley was able to hand Lewandowski his first defeat in the distance while he secured his own 7th career victory with the 6th being by stoppage.

Wardley sized his oversized opponent in the opening few rounds n order to find a way through his German opponent’s guard.

The third saw the 23 years old Wardley pulling out some decent combinations as he bloodied Lewandowski’s nose and also drop him twice in the same round with uppercuts. At this point, the referee called the fight off at the mark of 2:35 of the third round.

Wardley said to media after his win, “this is one of my favorite punches which I feel comfortable throwing. I am not someone who comes from a lineage of boxing family and I also don’t have an ABA experience.  I fight on these nights while I learn. That is what I needed tonight and that’s what I got.”

Eddie Hearn the promoter said that Lewandowski was not able to deal with power of Wardley and he now expects great things from Wardley.

He said, “he has been the distance with some good heavyweights. He is learning on his job. As for Lewandowski, he was to deliver the rounds but he could not do it. Now I cannot wait to let Wardley off the leash to fight with British heavyweights. There is plenty of time and I am just excited to think that he is going to be a dark horse among a bunch of them.”
