JD NXTGEN; Richard Riakporhe halted Tommy McCarthy in fourth round

On the JD NXTGEN bill in Peterborough, the fight between Richard Riakporhe VS Tommy McCarthy ended with the win for Riakporhe as he stopped his opponent in the fourth round.

Riakporhe; the unbeaten cruiserweight fighter displayed his destructive punches from the get-go as he unleashed a ferocious barrage of punches in the fourth round. The Belfast man McCarthy could not stop and responded to this barrage and was floored as the fight was waived off.

From the opening bell of the first round, Riakporhe dominated the ring with his thudding jab. McCarthy also tried to respond by making a distance and delivering his own cluster of punches.

The second round was quite successful for the Belfast man as he managed to force Riakporhe to the ropes right after the exchanged punches at close quarters.

However, the Londoner was actually trying to find the range to land his right hand which had been earlier blocked by McCarthy who also withstood a left hook from Riakporhe before the bell sounded.

Riakporhe was not repelled for long as a ripping right hand wobbled McCarthy and he was soon floored on the canvas.

After McCarthy was floored the second time, Riakporhe unloaded his savage punches as the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.
