Dylan Frittelli was able to win the John Deere Classic after he fired a 7 under 64 to have the two-win victory for his career’ first PGA Tour.
The 29 years old Dylan Frittelli from South Africa, who had earlier won 2 European Toru titles back in 2017, was playing for the first time in the full season of the PGA Tour.
He was able to finish 21 under 263 at the TPC Deere Run held in Illinois to win against the late rally from Russell Henley.
With this win, Frittelli has now been able to secure himself the final qualifying spot for The 148th Open to be held at the Royal Portrush. With this win, he is now also at the 48th place for the FedEx Cup standings.
Frittelli said to media, “The spore is few less than what I had originally expected but I am still happy with it. I only tried to have a good start and those three birdies did help me a lot and calmed down my nerves. I knew that I was a good player and I also knew that I was in the world’s Top 50 but to win here and to do it convincingly on Sunday, it was really tough. I had really bad last few weeks and this one only tastes very sweet to me.”
