Jokic with his triple-double leads Nuggets past Raptors by 106-103

Nikola Jokic was on the role on Monday night basketball game as he got his second triple-double for the season to help the Denver Nuggets who were dealing with the key absence.

On the Monday night game of basketball, Toronto Raptors vs. Denver Nuggets, Nuggets came out victorious by 106-103. Jokic was the hero for the Nuggets as he scored three free throws in the final seven seconds of the game.

Jokic celebrating his triple-double and win of his team said, “To beat the number one team in the Eastern Conference means a lot to us”.

Jokic scored 23 points with his 15 assists and 11 rebounds for the night while Jamal Murray scored 21 points and Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez both scored 15 points each from Nuggets side. With this win, Nuggets have won their sixth consecutive game and also ended the Raptors’ eight-game winning streak.

Raptors were led by Kawhi Leonard who scored 27 points whereas Serge Ibaka scored 15 points and Pascal Siakam added in his 14 points for the night.

His was a huge win for the Denver Nuggets who were dealing with many key absences like G Will Barton (core muscle surgery), F Michael Porter Jr. (back surgery), G Isaiah Thomas (right hip surgery) and F Jarred Vanderbilt (right foot surgery).

Denver Nuggets will now visit Orlando for a game with Orlando Magic on Wednesday night whereas Toronto Raptors will host a game against Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
