Joshua VS Povetkin; Joshua defended his world titles by knocking out Povetkin in seventh round

The climax to the most anticipated fight of the year; Joshua VS Povetkin finally came to an end with a devastating knockout blow delivered by Joshua in the seventh round. Joshua was overtaken by the onslaught of Russian in the first few rounds at the Wembley Stadium but then overcame it.

The British Star was able to blast Povetkin to canvas with a devastating blow in the seventh round. Povetkin tired to get back up but Joshua dealt another furious blow that resulted in the 22nd professional victory against the WBA mandatory challenger.

Joshua despite being getting wobbled in the early rounds but once he started to show his battle spirit nothing could stop him. He has become the first man to stop Povetkin.

Povetkin entered the ring under the stadium lit by Pyrotechnics in black robe while Joshua made his entrance under the announcement of a rapper and cheers of his home crowd.

Soon the cheering turned to sounds of gasps as Russian made the British star stagger with a right hook in the early minutes of first round.

As blood was dripping for Joshua’s nose, Povetkin managed to find another opening to deliver yet another devastating hook.

Povetkin seemed to be easily penetrating through defenses of Joshua as he rammed into him with an overhand right and ducked down to deliver a low hook/.  Soon Joshua began to compose his fighting spirit and started delivering back crisp counters.

With a wayward elbow, a cut appeared on Povetkin’s right eye that stalled his charge in the fourth round. This was the moment that Joshua managed to pin him back with his stinging jabs.

Povetkin still resolved tried to overcome Joshua with hooks from either hands but Joshua managed to evade with his elegant footwork while neutralizing the opponent’s shots with his accurate left hand.

After getting the feel of his opponent, Joshua was ready to give a blasting finale to the crowd.

Povetkin got wobbly when a straight right hand hit him straight in the face followed by a left hook that sealed his fate as he crashed on the canvas. Povetkin tired to stagger back up in daze but was ultimately got knock out from barrage of crunching shots from Joshua thus sealing defeat of Povetkin and win for Joshua.
