In the ATP Finals, Kei Nishikori is to replace Juan Martin del Potro at the ATP Finals as Del Potro suffers from a knee injury.
The Argentinean, Del Porto has to retire from the ATP Finals due to his season ending knee injury. He is sidelined for the rest of the year after his knee injury he sustained during the Shanghai Masters last month.
He is now replaced by Kei Nishikori who will be joining the eight players Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev, Kevin Anderson, Marin Cilic and Dominic Thiem in the ATP Finals.
Del Potro said to media, “it is really frustrating for me to be not able to compete in the ATP Finals in London. It is a really special tournament for me and I have tried everything to get my knee better. The rehabilitation is making good progress but I still need more time for full recovery. Of course, it is disappointing for me at the moment but I still had a very good season overall”.
