Joel Quenneville, coach of Carolina panthers said about Keith Yandle, “what he has gone through I the span of 24 hours and then to make a comeback and be ready to play is really incredible.”

This is the commitment to the game and the team that the 33 years old Keith Yandle has never missed out on a game since the season of 2008-2009 and why is he steadily reaching the record of Doug Jarvis for the consecutive NHL games played. Jarvis’s record is for 964 games while for Keith Yandle, he is currently at his 821st game. If Keith Yandle manages to play all of his 82 games with panthers this season, he will have a record for 879 consecutive games played.

Quenneville said further of Yandle, “In the game of today, he plays for significant minutes. He is not getting younger but is still able to be ready for the start of the season for the rigorous 82 games scheduled. Whether he suffers from flu or cold, he manages to find a way to overcome it and this is very remarkable of him.”
