LeBron James knows that he needs to increase his intensity if the Lakers want to make it into the playoffs. And this exactly what he did on Thursday night at Lakers game against the Houston Rockets.
James scored 29 points, 16 of which were in the second half of the game as he rallied the Lakers from a 19-point deficit to lead them to win over the Houston Rockets by 111-106.
This was Los Angeles Lakers biggest win as they made a comeback in the season. This is actually their sixth win where they came off trailing form 16 or more points. Their previous biggest comeback was back on Feb 7 when they defeated Boston Celtics in the second quarter after trailing by 18 points.
James who had 6 rebounds and 11 assists in this game, said to media, “I need to be in the level right now. Knowing the circumstances we are in we need to kick start something. I like where I am currently at and I would get better. Tonight was a step for me in the right direction.”
Lakers coach Luke Walton said, “It looks like we got our defensive mojo back.”
From Lakers side, Brandon Ingram scored 27 points while Kyle Kuzma added in his 18 points.
As for the Houston Rockets, they were led by James Harden who scored 30 points with 10 rebounds and 9 assists before fouled out of the game at 1:24 minutes to spare. This was Harden’s 32nd game where he had scored 30 or more points as he has already taken over Wilt Chamberlain’s second-longest scoring streak in NBA history. Currently, he is on his way to overtake, Chamberlain’s first longest streak as well.
Paul from Houston side scored 23 points with 10 rebounds before he was fouled out and was only 1 assist away from a triple-double.
Up next, Houston Rockets will play against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night while LA Lakers will play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night.
