Leonard has 21 as Raptors beat 76ers by 125-89 in Game 5

The management of the Toronto Raptor came up with a new plan for Kawhi Leonard so he might not have to face the entire offensive burden for the team.

Leonard led the team with his 21 points and 13 rebounds while Pascal Siakam added in his 25 points as Toronto Raptors gained the advantage of the second quarter to win over the Philadelphia 76ers by 125-89 on the Tuesday night game.  With this win, Raptors now have a 3-2 lead for the second round series of the playoffs.

With this lead, Raptors now have a strong chance to move into the finals of the Eastern Conference playoffs for the 2nd time in the last 4 seasons. The chance could be more if they manage to win Game 6 between the teams on Thursday night. Last Eastern Conference Finals that Raptors played in was for the NBA 2016 season which they lost to Cleveland Cavaliers.

As for 76ers, if they managed to extend the series to a 7th game, the series will be played on Sunday night in Toronto.

Kyle Lowry, Raptors guard said about Leonard who scored 33 points on average in the last 4 games, “tonight was one of those games, where we let him rest a little bit. This is really important for him and the team. He had a big double-double but he does not need to do everything on the offensive end.”

Previously Leonard scored 39 points for the Raptors in their Sunday night game 4 wins.

Kyle Lowry helped the Raptors with his 19 points while Danny Green added in his 17 points and Marc Gasol finished the night with 11 points along with Serge Ibaka adding 10 points.

As for 76ers, they were led on the night by Jimmy Butler who scored 22 points while Tobias Harris added in his 15 points for the 76ers. As for Joel Embidd, he again had a rough night as he only scored 13 points.
