Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks started their New Year’s much like they ended the previous year.
The Tuesday night game of basketball between Milwaukee Bucks VS the Detroit Pistons ended with Bucks win by 121-98. Bucks were able to win with Antetokounmpo’s one-handed dunk and Brook Lopez’s long-range shooting abilities. This was the eighth win for the Bucks in their last nine games and their 4th consecutive win this season making them have the best NBA record of 26-10 this season.
Although Antetokounmpo only scored 165 points, his slam over the Pistons’ player Jon Leuer was the highlight of the night. Antetokounmpo managed to blow past Andre Drummond and jumped with his right arm reaching over Leuer for slamming his first dunk in the first quarter.
Antetokounmpo said, “It is fun to have a night like this. Everyone has energy and plays hard”.
Bucks were led by Lopez who scored 25 points which included his 7 3-pointer shots from long range. Other players of Bucks like Kris Middleton scored 22 points while Eric Bledrose scored 18 points.
Lopez said, “I was feeling good. We were able to move the ball really well and I was just trying to space the floor. Guys were making great passes to me all night. They are really good at attacking the basket and drawing people and kicking out.”
As for Detroit, they were led by Blake Griffin and his 29 points and 9 rebounds for the night whereas Reggie Jackson scored 19 points.
Piston coach, Dewayne Casey talking about team’s defeat said, “Bucks are a really good team. There is still another competitive level we can get into. We have some guys laying it on the line but not enough.”
Up next, Detroit Pistons will play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday; the first matchup f both teams this season while Milwaukee Bucks will play against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
