The first game with Inter Milan having Antonio Conte as their new coach was an amazing one for Conte as the team defeats their newly promoted opponent Lecce by 4-0 in the Serie A match held on Monday.
The record signing of the Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku was able to score on his debut game as the former forward of Manchester United made the score 3-0 following the first-half goals from his teammates Marcelo Brozovic and Stefano Sensi respectively.
Diego Farias, the substitute of Lecce was sent off the field after only 14 minutes following his reckless challenge on Antonio Candreva and Nicolò Barella.
Conte said, “There was a spark tonight but now we must aim to become dynamite. We started well with the right intensity and the desire.”
Conte returned as coach of Inter Milan for Seri A after replacing the previous coach Luciano Spalletti at end of this year’s May. Conte, the ex-coach of the Juventus and Italy had been out of job ever since June of 2018 after Chelsea fired him as their coach from the Premier League.
The loudest cheers on the night were for Lukaku and his goal as he fired a rebound after the goalkeeper of Lecce.
Lukaku was signed in the team near the start of this month for a contract of 65 million Euros and also 13 million Euros for bonuses. Following his goal, he bowed down to his fans.
Conte said Lukaku has made it into the Inter as the best possible way, the great humility. He is a kind giant with a big smile on his face. He is ready to work really hard for the team.”
