Marcus Morrison was able to give his career a boost with a dramatic KO win against Emanuele Blandamura, the former, world title challenger.
The British fighter was behind on the scorecards on a fight held at the Stadio Nicola Pietrangeli located in Rome but was still able to win the match in a dramatic fashion to hold the WBC Silver International title.
With this Morrison has now won 5 matches in a row and his career record improves to 21-3.
The 10-round match started with both fighters sending in stiff jabs against each other. Spoon Morrison got some good hands right punches to frustrate his Italian opponent.
The next round saw Blandamura firing up his punches but the elegant footwork from the 39 years old fighter made it possible for him to avoid these punches.
The Italian fighter had only won five opponents in his career before this fight but against Morrison, he was unable to win it.
The pace was set by Morrison in the mid-rounds as his every hit was powered by chants of the crowd. He made use of his experience to nullify his opponent’s powerful shots.
Brit did well in the 5th round as he countered his opponent but then Blandamura started to score in some small attacks that made him top on scorecards.
Morrison had trouble finding his rhythm and accuracy but then in the 8th, he had a spirited attack that caused major damage to Blandamura.
After 1 minute break between the rounds, Morrison continued his assault as he rallied in to deliver one final hook to end the fight in a dramatic fashion.
