In the semi-finals of the Miami Open between Rogers Federer and Dennis Shapovalov, Federer defeats Shapovalov with straight sets to book the Miami open Final.

The 37 years old great Swiss player defeated his 19 years old opponent quite easily by 6-2 and 6-4 in just 1 hour and 14 minutes game.

In this match, Federer won 91% of his first serve points as he broke Shapovalov’s serve three times. This was the first career meeting between the two which Federer won by a huge margin.

With this win, Federer has managed to enter his record 50th ATP Masters 1000 tournament final as he broke the tie with Rafael Nadal for all-time ranking.

Federer said, “I think I enjoyed the match as I played it very well. I had to play well because if you let Denis play then he has got a serious power to him and he finds his rhythm. He can put any player in an uncomfortable situation. So yeah, I think I did well.”

As for now, he will be facing John Isner, the defending champion of the Miami Open in the final, who earlier defeated the Canadian teenager Felix Auger-Aliassime by 7-6 and 7-6.
