Miami Open; Felix Auger-Aliassime’s run to final ended by John Isner

In the semi finals match of Miami Open between John Isner and Felix Auger-Aliassime, Isner denied his Canadian opponent his first Masters 1000 final hope as he defeated the teenager in 2 tight sets of the tiebreak. With this win, the defending champion John Isner moves into the final once again.

Isner, the 33 years old champion was backed by his opponent in the last 2 sets but Felix Auger-Aliassime who earlier managed to reach the semi-finals by winning 7 straight games, failed to win any of the final sets.

Under the pressure of the late stage, Isner showed his experience as he won the match by 7-6 and 7-6 as he extends his winning streak to 11 matches in Miami.

With this win, the world rank no. 9 will now face off against the 3 times champion of the Miami Open, Roger Federer for final on Sunday.

Isner said, “It is amazing. I said before the tournament that chances were not good for me to defend the title.  I am very happy. As for Felix, I cannot say enough things about him. He is so humble and works really hard. He can very well go to the top.”
