Paris Masters; Dominic Thiem to meet Karen Khachanov for place in Paris Masters final

Dominic Thiem managed to defeat the defending champion Jack Sock on Friday to set up a meeting against Karen Khachanov at the semi finals of Paris Masters.

Thiem lost one west but ultimately sent of his American opponent with a bang by 4-6, 6-4 and 6-4.

The Audrain player is bidding to qualify for the ATP Finals for the third consecutive time and is now going to face off Karen Khachanov, with whom this is his first meeting.

Thiem, the world no. 8 said, I am in the Semi Finals of the Masters 1000 for the fourth time. For me to be here this time is really special because I did not perform all too well in the previous years of this season. So far the three matches I have played were great in all aspect.”

On the other hand, Karen Khachanov managed to surprise the audience when he pulled a fast one an managed to outgun the top young player these days; the German player Alexander Zverev. He defeated Zverev by 6-1 and 6-2 to secure his meeting with Thiem and in the last four.

22 yes old Khachanov took the advantage of Zverev’s injured shoulder and ended the match rather quickly.

Zverev complained to Khachanov about the overzealous reactions from his camp’s courtyard. Zverev also laid out his view to media,

“I told him my shoulder is hurting and I told him that his uncle is going a bit crazy. And I told him to calm down a little because he is going over the edge a little too much. I was never going to win the match so I was just telling him to calm down a little bit”.
