Paul Allen; the owner of NFL team Seattle Seahawks and NBA team Portland Trail Blazers died age 65

The owner of Seattle Seahawks; Paul Allen has died at age of 65 years old on Monday. Paul Allen died after his long battle with cancer; the news has been confirmed by his family.

Paul Allen was also the co-founder of the technology and software giant Microsoft alongside Bill Gates in the 1970’s.  Other than technology, he was an avid sports fan and other than Seattle Seahawks he was the owner of NBA team Portland Trail Blazers.

Earlier in October, Paul Allen told the media in a statement that cancer “non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma” he treated back in 2009 has come back once again.

Jody the sister of Paul Allen said in a statement that, “my brother was a remarkable man in all aspect of life. While many of you might know him to be a technologist and a philanthropist, we know him to be a loved brother, uncle and a friend. Paul’s family is very blessed to have been blessed with his wit, warmth and his generosity. At this moment we are profoundly grateful for his care and concern that he showed for anybody every day.”

Allen and Gates founded the Microsoft back in the 1970’s. Their big break came in 1980 when IBM decided to shift to personal computers and asked Microsoft for the assistance with their operating system.

This one decision propelled Microsoft to be the kings of the technology and eventually made them billionaires.  Both of the partners then turned towards philanthropy.

Over the course of his life, Paul Allen has given away 2 billion dollars to many of his interests like Ocean Health, homelessness and advanced scientific researches.
