After their slow third quarters lately in the season, Rockets finally meant game after the halftime as their third-quarter performance helped them to in on Sunday night.
Chris Paul led the Houston Rockets with his 25 points along with his career high of 6 3-pointers as well as his 10 assists to let Rockets win over the Minnesota Timberwolves by 117-102.
The game had been close up until the halftime with Rockets being only 1 point up at the halftime. However, in the third quarter, Rockets made a rally to score 43 points with help of Chris Paul to extend their lead of 15 points victory over the Wolves.
Mike D’Antoni, the Rockets coach said, “Our focus after getting out of the locker room was to be better. The team talked about it themselves that they have been kind of coming soft and decided to not do this. The team came out more focused than ever and played especially great on the offensive end.”
As for James Harden, he scored 20 points along with 10 assists for Rockets in this game despite having a strained neck issue he suffered during Friday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns. As for Capela, he scored 20 points with b13 rebounds for the team but Harden thinks that there is still more room for improvement.
As for the Minnesota Timberwolves, they were led by Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 22 points along with 10 rebounds as their team has lost their last 3 games in a row.
He was disappointed about the third quarter and said, “We just did not make the shots. We were not able to shoot well and they did shot well whenever the needed it. They were having their best run of the game and we could not stop bleeding and were not able to do a good job.”
Up next, Timberwolves will host a game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night while Rockets will be playing against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
