Real Madrid held at draw against Getafe

Real Madrid was held to a draw at 0-0 in the Spanish league match against Getafe on Thursday. With this draw, they are now in danger of finishing outside of the top two teams of the league for the first time in the club’s 4 years of history.

With this draw, the Zinedine Zidane’s team is now held two points at the 2nd place right behind the Atletico Madrid who gained a win over Valencia by 3-2 on Wednesday.

They have managed to keep their hope alive for catching up to the top with Barcelona.

Barcelona, on the other hand, has a chance to clinch itself the 2nd title in a row and their 8th in their last 11 seasons. Their hopes to win the title are strong if they managed to win over Levante at home on Saturday.

As for Real Madrid, with only 4 games reaming for the event, they can only try to avoid their second 3rd pale finish. They have not finished for anything less than the 2nd place for nearly the last 45 years since the seasons of 1973 to 1974.

With the return of the coach Zidane, Real Madrid is yet to win their first match as their one match ended in defeat against Valencia while other 2 ended in a draw against Leganes and Getafe respectively.

Zidane said, “We deserve more than a draw, we had chances to score a goal. I am very upset with these results.”

As for Getafe, this has been a major surprise to the soccer fans as they have managed to beat the 4th place in the season and also hold the final qualification spot for the Champions League. They have not been beaten in their last 5 matches in a row.

Damian Suarez, the defender of the Getafe said, “We gained a point and now we are still in the fight for the 4th place. We need to keep doing, what we have been doing so far.”
