Roger Federer lifts his record 10th Halle Open trophy

Roger Federer has a great war up for the upcoming Wimbledon after he secured his 10th record Halle Open title with a win over David Goffin.

The world rank no. 3 Federer was able to save all three of his match points on his way to win over Goffin by 7-6 and 6-1 in 85 minutes long match.

Federer said, “It is unbelievable. I never imagined the first time I played here that I would win 10 titles here.”

Federer, who already reached the winning number of 9 times at his home events like Basel and Halle, has now joined the ranks of players like Rafael Nadal in modern day tennis to be in the double digits for winning a single event.

The Belgian player Goffin was able to make it to the finals after defeating world rank no. 5 Alexander Zverev, in what was his first final appearance since 2017. Unfortunately, he was not able to reproduce the same game as he did most of the week against Federer in the finals.

Federer is now also 7 titles short of trying with Jimmy Connors record of winning 109 tour-level titles.
