Ronaldo rescues as Juventus make a 1-1 draw against Torino

In the Serie A match between Juventus and Torino on Friday for the chance of Tornio to qualify for the Champions League on Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo helped the Juventus by scoring a goal late in the game. With his goal, the game ended in a 10-1 draw between the 2 teams.

Torino was dead set on winning this game in order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Superga air disaster. They were staying true to that conviction with a first-half goal made by Sasa Lukic but then Ronaldo dumped cold water on their effort after he scored a goal with 6 minutes left to the game.

With this match ending in a draw, Tornio now still remains at the 76th place which is 2 points below the 4h pace Atalanta for their chance at the finals of the Champions League. As for Juventus, they have already won their 8th league title in a row.

Walter Mazzarri, the Torino coach said, “the draw burns like hell. We were thinking about victory. There were 2 to 3 times when we could have scored the 2nd goal and brought a victory with us home.

Still, there are many matches left and we need to play at them like we did tonight.”

As for the Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, he said, “the ‘Grande Torino’ is the presentation of the history of football. Tomorrow we are going to commemorate their tragedy which will always remain in the hearts and memory of each one of us.”

Torino was able to take the lead in the game during the 18th minute after Lukic managed to muscle the ball away from Miralem Pjanic and curled it on the far side of the net to score the first goal of the night.

As for Ronaldo, he ended the game in draw with a goal scored during the 84th minute, which is now his 21st league goal.
