Sam Eggington tops Orlando Fiordigiglio with 2nd-round TKO

In the Thursday night fight between Sam Eggington and Orlando Fiordigiglio held in Florence, Italy, Eggington only needed two rounds to gain the TKO victory.

A succession of the whipping short right punches from Eggington caused the Fiordigiglio to get hurt early on in the opening round and was saved by the bell while struggling on his feet.

Eggington, the former champion of Britain and Europe, was able to pick the title belter for IBF International Super-welterweight by winning over the fifth contender of the organization.

Back last year, he lost to Liam Smith in what was his career’s 6th defeat and now 6 months later, he is now once more in position where he finds bigger opportunities for himself.

As for Fiordigiglio, he had 33 fights and won 31 of them and was boxing as the local star but against the superior power of Eggington, he had no answer.

In other fights of the night, Jordan Gill was able to gain a unanimous points decision over Yesner Talavera since he lost his unbeaten record. As for fight between Luther Clay and Dario Morello, it ended with a win for Clay on points.
