Sebastian Soderberg wins the Omega European Masters title by the playoff victory

Sebastian Soderberg made a birdie on his first extra hole that granted him the win for the Open European title while Rory McIlroy had to endure the defeat on the play-off second time in a row at the Crans-sur-Sierre.

Soderberg, in the 5 man playoff was able to put the birdie in the hole after he finished 72 holes to tie at the top on 14-under with Rory and the overnight leader named Andres Romero, Kale Samooja and Lorenzo Gagli for the exciting finale of 80th staging event.

The 29 years old Swiss came to the event with his playing rights for the next season in jeopardy and was the only one to have hit the fairway with the Play-off starting at the 18th hole.

It was then he made a sold wedge from 10 feet right after McIlroy drilled a rough from 6 feet.

McIlroy was struggling a little bit with his putt and his ball was not able to catch enough drop on the left edge causing Soderberg to be the champion.
