On Friday at the Shenzhen Open’s quarterfinals, the British duo of Andy Murray and Cameron Norrie suffered a disappointed defeat.
Murray has been defeated second time from Fernando Verdasco with space of a month. Murray lost to the veteran Spaniard recently at the US Open.
Murray who had recently secured a promising win over top seed David Goffin suffered a disappointing fate as he fell three time with a score of 6-4, 6-4 in match of one our 40 minutes.
Still Murray is pleased to leave the Shenzhen Open after defeating the top seed David Goffin especially after making a comeback from his Hip injury.
Murray has also pulled out of the China Open happening next week due to problems of ankle and is planning to focus on rehabilitation before aiming it back in 2019’s season.
Murray said to media, “When he had opportunities he played well. I first set I had few chances but did not took them. He was aggressive in the second set and also did not made many mistakes so he deserved this second set. “.
He further said, “I need to spend more time on practice and gym so I might be more Robust and physically active next time. At the moment as the week passé by I feel myself slowing down a little bit”.
Norrie suffered the defeat at hand of Yoshihito Nishioka; a Japanese qualifier in their last eight clash by 7-6 and 6-2.
Norrie; Britain’s world no. 73 defeated world No. 18 Borna Coric to set up his match against Nishioka.
However unfortunately for Norrie he broken down twice in the second set and ultimately lost to a player that is ranked 98 places down him in the world rankings.
In other ties, Australian young tennis player Alex De Minaur defeated Bosnian Damir Dzumhur while Frenchman Pierre Hughes Herbert defeated the Spain’s Albert Ramos.
