The New York Yankees and Gleyber Torres have now finally put the ball on the bat and the result of this was a satisfying victory for the Yankees as they wrecked the home opener from Baltimore Orioles.
Torres’s scored 2 Homers along with his career high of 4 hits to drive in 4 runs to lead the New York Yankees past Baltimore by 8-4 on Thursday.
For the injury-riddled Yankees, Gary Sanchez as well as Luke Voit both scored their own homers, who were looking for their own spark with a 2-4 start.
Aaron Boone said, “it w since to break through with a couple of o big hits and these big hits happened to be home runs. That was really energizing for the guys and allowed us to exhale quite a bit.”
Torres’ first home run allowed the New York Yankees to be 3-1 in the 3rd innings and his 3-run drive for the 6th innings allowed Yankees to move up by 5-4.
Boone said, “We were fired up. We had our chances but we were not able to cash in on them. To finally hit a big one and get it in the dugout, it brought out some energy and some emotion.”
