The former WBC Champion and actor; Victor Ortiz has recently been charged with rape.
Police told media that, “31 years old Victor Ortiz who formerly held the WBC welterweight belt in 2011 turned himself to police department of Ventura County’s Sheriff Office located in California. He turned himself to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest”.
Charges have been filed by the office of District Attorney which follows a several months long investigation that relates to an incident that happened back in March in a house located at Oxnard; situated 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
The Oxnard police website depicts that bail for Ortiz was set at 100,000 dollars.
Ortiz who faces sexual assault charges which also includes rape will appear before a judge on 10th October 2018.
Apart from boxing, Ortiz has made appearances in Hollywood top his like Southpaw and Expendables 3 along with making appearances on TV show Ray Donovan. He has also competed in the reality dace show “Dancing with the Stars” in 2013.
Ortiz got his WBC title from Andre Berto back in 2011 but he shortly lost it to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
