Westbrook’s 15th triple-double leads Thunder past Pelicans by 122-116

Bill Donovan, the head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder has been hearing the question all season regarding the shaky shooting of Russell Westbrook. Despite that, he was not concerned because Westbrook does everything else well.

Westbrook, the 2017’s MVP managed to spot his 15th NBA triple-double to lead the OKC Thunder to win over the Davis less Ne Orleans Pelicans by 122-116 on Thursday night.

Donovan said, “He impacts the game in many different ways. He can do it by rebounding, he can do it by the defense, he can do it by assists and he can do it going through a transition. He does a lot of different things to impact the game. So I am not really worried about him.”

Westbrook fished the game with 23 points on 9 of 19 shooting along with 17 rebounds and 16 assists. With this win, Thunder now improves to 10-5.

Thunder forward Abdel Nader said, “He is once in a generation kind of a player. He is very special. On both ends, he plays with energy levels that the guys wish to play with.”

Other players of the OKC Thunder like Paul George scored 23 points with 11 rebounds while Steven Adams scored 20 points with 13 rebounds. This was the fourth straight win of the OKC Thunder.

As for Pelicans, they were still playing without their star player Anthony Davis who is out due to his injured index finger and now Pelicans also announced that Nikola Mirotic will also be out of the game due to his right calf strain.

Jrue Holiday took the lead of the Pelicans on Thursday night, as he scored 22 points with 13 assists while Darius Miller scored his career-high of 21 points for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Up next, New Orleans Pelicans will host a game against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday while OKC Thunder will host a game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.
