Williams’ 1st triple-double leads Clippers past Bulls by 106-101

Lou Williams, in his 14th season in NBA, put up a stat line that he won’t forget.

The reserve guard of the LA Clippers scored 301 points along with his 10 rebounds and 10 assists to make his first career triple-double. Under his lead, Los Angeles Clippers managed to win over the Chicago Bulls by 106-101 on the Friday night game.

Williams said to media, “I just play. The only person who mentioned to me this was Boban with five minutes left to the fourth quarter. I was like ‘I appreciate it Boban but you will mess with my psyche’. It was cool to have this triple-double. It was really fun.”

Bulls

As for Bulls’ side, they were led by Lavine who scored 29 points for the team while Bobby Portis added in his 18 points and 14 rebounds for the night. With this loss, Bulls have now lost 12 of their last 13 games.

Lou Williams

Lou Williams has joined the company of the only one other player in the NBA history who scored 30 point triple-double; the Detlef Schrempf. He managed to achieve that mark in Pacers VS Milwaukee game back on February 13th, 1996 with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Clippers

Up next, Los Angeles Clippers will be ending their three-game road trip to host a game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday while Chicago Bulls will wrap their three-game homestand as they host a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night.
