In the fight, which in many views was a rematch of the Rio Olympics, between Michael Conlan and Vladimir Nikitin, ended with Michael Conlan getting revenge for the previous fight between two fighters now in New York. 
Michael Conlan won the fight on points decision to wash the shame of the infamous loss he had against Vladimir Nikitin t the 2016’s Rio Olympics. He emerged with a convincing victory in his professional career as he received the scores of 98-92, 99-91 and 100-90 from ringside judges at the venue of Madison Square Garden located in New York.
With this win, Michael Conlan extends his professional career record to 13 victories as he was able to find the range early on to land some crisp body shots on Nikitin.
It was the 3rd round when Nikitin hit the canvas which was ruled out by referee as a slip who then issued a warning to Nikitin for use of the elbow as he tied to drag Conlan to a dogfight.
As for Conlan, he too was given a warning for his low blow during the 8th round that caused a furious exchange between both fighters as they stood and traded in the middle of the boxing ring.
Still, the shots from Conlan were more hurtful and Nikitin succumbed to them as his battling spirit diminished and then the final bell rang to signal triumph for Michael Conlan.
