Khabib Nurmagomedov has threatened UFC officials that he plans to leave UFC for good if his sparring partner Zubaira Tukhugov is fired by the organization after his involvement in the feud of the UFC 229’s post-fight brawl”.
Tukhugov who has been seen in the video for punching McGregor from behind is amongst the three men who exchanged punches with McGregor in the post-fight melee after the main fight ended.
Nurmagomedov won by submission from McGregor who tapped out in the fourth round of their fight suffering from a Rear Back choke. After gaining the win jumped out of the octagon and scuffled with Dillon Danis. Dillion is the jiu-jitsu coach of McGregor.
McGregor also tried to escape and attack the teammates of Khabib but security personnel restrained him. He did exchange punches with three men who jumped into the ring to attack him.
Nurmagomedov has now made it clear that he will not accept the organization punishing any members of his camp for his action.
Nurmagomdov in his Instagram post stated that “I would like to address UFC. Why did not you guys fired any members of McGregor’s team when they tried to attack my bus and injured couple of people onboard. They could have killed someone that day. Why is nobody saying or talking anything about those guys insulting my homeland, my religion, and my family members?”
He further stated that “why are you only punishing my team when both teams fought with each other? If you take the stance that I started it, then I do not agree because only finished what he earlier started. In any way, if you have to punish someone punish me and not Zubaira, he has nothing to do with it.”
He ended the post with a threat, “if you are thinking of ring him then remember you will lose me too. We do not give up on our brothers in Russia and we go to end for our brothers. If you guys still fie him, then send me my broken contract as well otherwise I am going to break it myself”.
