On the Sunday’s ATP Finals robin round clash in London, Roger Federer shockingly lost to Kei Nishikori in the straight sets defeat.
Federer has made his 16th appearance at the ATP finals an as looking to win his seventh title since 2011. However, he has now lost to Kei Nishikori by 7-6 and 6-3. As for Kei Nishikori, he moves up in the tournament leveling with Kevin Anderson at the top of the Group Lleyton Hewitt.
Nishikori had previously lost two meets with Rodger Federer at the matches in Shanghai and Paris. He is currently known to be quick returners of the game. He was able to keep up with Swiss’s eccentric shots as he won the first set in the tie-break.
Federer who lost to Novak Djokovic last week in Paris was confident as he moved to the capital. However, Nishikori took advantage of Federer’s old arm to break through in the sixth game to win the match.
