There has been another huge step towards the expansion of the Wimbledon after the neighboring Golf club voted to sell its land.
The club members of the Wimbledon Park Golf Club all voted in agreement to sell the golf club’s 73 acres of land to the All England Club. With this acquisition, the size of the tennis complex will triple in size.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club announced the news on Thursday night in which they announced that the voting was held in their favor and the transfer awaits the court approval and the procedure will start from December 21st.
The golf club in question has a total of 750 members and each of these members will receive a sum of 80,000 pounds a part of its sale.
Despite the sale approval, the club will continue to facilitate its members until December 31st, 2018.
