Brown and Tatum carry Celtics over Hornets without Irving by 126-94

With Kyrie Irving being stuck on the sidelines once again, Terry Rozier and his teammates pitched in for the Boston Celtics. The talented young cats of the Celtics stole the show again.

Rozier scored 17 points and 10 assists, Jaylen Brown scored 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Jayson Tatum scored 20 points to lead the Boston Celtics win past the Charlotte Hornets by 124-94 on Wednesday night.

Rozier who started for Irving’s place said, “When we play with Irving, it more like a show. We sit back and watch him go crazy. Without him we clearly do not know from whom the scoring is going to come from. Somebody has to step up.”

Rozier’s 10 assists in this game tied his career high record he set last year in a game against the New York Knicks. Other players from Celtics’ side like Marcus Morris scored 15 points; Al Horford had 14 and Gordon Hayward added in his 12 points for the Celtics. This was Boston Celtics seventh win in their last 8 games.

As for the Hornets, they were led by Kemba Walker who scored 21 points which is way short than his 43 points he scored for team’s win on November 19th against the Celtics other players from Charlotte’s side; Malik Monk scored 16 points while Nicolas Batum added in his 13 points and Marvin Williams scored 10 points. This was Hornets third loss in their last 5 games.

Up next, Hornets will begin their three-game homestand on Friday as they will play against the Memphis Grizzlies. As for Boston Celtics, they will play a game against the New York Knicks on Friday night before the Super Bowl showdown starts at the Thunder Dome.
