China Open; Kyle Edmund secures spot in Semi Finals

Kyle Edmund has finally secured his spot into the China Open’s Semi-Finals and is now only one step away from facing Juan Martin del Potro.

Britain’s no. 1 secures his win in the quarterfinals against Dusan Lajovic and won by 6-3 and 7-6.

On the other than the Top seed, Juan Martin del Potro also secured his own semi final spot as he cruised past a victory against Filip Krajinovic by 6-3 and 6-0 earlier that day.

Now Edmund is either set up to fight against either Nikoloz or Malek Jaziri in his Saturday game or the semi-final while Del Potro is to face Fabio Fognini.

For Edmund, the path to finals suddenly opened up when the top seeds like Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov both got eliminated in their Friday quarterfinal matches.

Del Potro, who has qualified already for the ATP Finals, is soon going to play against Fognini said o media that, “it is going to be a difficult one. Fabio has already beaten me at the Mexico Final this year. He is already making very well and he is a smart player as well. This is going to be an interesting match against him. Fabio also has many chances to win this match. I have to play my best to have a chance to win this match too.”
