China Open; an emotional Naomi Osaka moves into the semi finals

US Open Champion; Naomi Osaka after defeating her opponent Zhang Shuai at the China Open quarter-finals apologized for her emotional behavior during their roller coaster of a match.

29 years old Osaka had to fight back her tears and rescue the match that seemingly was slipping away from her hands. She finally able to defeat Osaka, the unseeded hope for China at this home event by 3-6, 6-4 and 7-5 to secure her spot in the semi-finals.

Osaka who normally seems glum even after victory flung he racquet around during the game but finally got composure against Shuai.

Naomi, the world no. 6 said to media that, “I was basically apologizing for the fact that today I was being more emotional than I normally am. He match was very draining for both of us and I think we both fought hard for it.”

After the match at the press conference, where she looked again unhappy when asked as to why she had tears in her eyes on the court, she replied, “Because it was a hard match. That is the only reason why.”

Osaka is next to face the Latvian unseeded player Anastasija Seveastova for the Chain Open’s semi-final match that is going to be held at Beijing’s outdoor hard courts.
