Daniel Jacobs wins IBF middleweight title with points win

Daniel Jacobs has become the two-time world Middleweight champion with the split decision of points over his opponent Sergiy Derevyanchenko.

Jacobs aka “The Miracle Man” claimed this vacant IBF title in a thrilling match at the Madison Square Garden, New York and won it by a close call on the scorecards.

Jacobs opened the fight in the first round by dropping Derevyanchenko with a flash knockdown. This proved to be crucial in his score points later as Judges gave out 113-114, 115-112 and 115-112 resulting in his win.

Jacob came in strong from the first round as he landed a right hand to his opponent’s temple resulting in knocking him down. Derevyanchenko made the cont and showed his grit in the second and third round as he also gave his strong right to Miracle Man which lessened his tenacity from the first round.

Jacob, in the fourth round, knew he has to come up with something new so he switched to Southpaw several times. In the middle rounds, both opponents met each other head-on and shared some hard shots and stingy jabs.

Derevyanchenko seemed to be out of breath in the eighth round as Jacob got the control of the fight. However, the ninth and tenth rounds were the strongest out of all revealing that the match was far from being over.

However, in the eleventh and twelfth rounds, Jacob’s right caught Derevyanchenko at least three times and with this, the 12 round boxing match came to an end.
