Federer beats Albot easily to reach quarterfinals of Swiss Indoors

Roger Federer, in his 3rd round match of the Swiss Indoors tournament, defeated the world rank no., 49th Radu Albot easily by 6-0 and 6-3. With this win, Roger Federer moves into the quarterfinals of the Swiss Indoors.     

Federer, the top seed of the tournament saved 2 breakpoints in the 1st set to win the 8 games in a row.

He is seeking to win his 10th title of the Swiss Indoors held in his hometown. So far this week, Federer has spent only 2 hours on the court of Swiss Indoors.

For the quarterfinals match of the Swiss Indoors, he will play against the winner of the match between Stan Wawrinka and Frances Tiafoe.

Wawrinka earlier defeated Pablo Cuevas by 6-3 and 6-4 whereas Tiafoe won by 6-4 and 6-2 against Dan Evans.

As for Alex De-Minaur, the wildcard entry of the Swiss Indoors, he qualified for the quarterfinals by defeating Taylor Fritz by 6-3 and 6-2. He will next play against Jan Lenard Struff.

Elsewhere at the Erste Bank Open held in Vienna, Dominic Thiem, who is having one of the best weeks of his season, won over Jo Wilfried Tsonga by 6-4 and 7-6.

In the 2nd round, Thiem will play against Fernando Verdasco who defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia by 4-6, 6-2, and 6-1. As for the match between Milos Raonic and Hyeon Chung, Chung won it by 6-4 and 7-5.
