Gavin Drysdale and Kayleigh Haggo both win Gold for Britain at the World Para-Athletics Championships in Dubai

Gavin Drysdale and Kayleigh Haggo were both able to deliver a superb golden fish for Great Britain in their respective races at the World Para Athletics Championships being held in Dubai.

Drysdale and Haggo were both able to win the gold in the men’s and women’s 100 meters RR3 event. The event was being played at the World Para Athletics Championships for the very time.

Haggo, who is the previous silver medalist for the European Paralympic Championships from last year, was able to set the world record with her time of 18.32 seconds. The second place at that event also went to Britain with Ellise Simpson recording the time of only 0.45 seconds short of Haggo.

The men’s’ and women’s races were held back to back at the World Para Athletics Championships and Britain was not kept waiting long to win its another golden success as Drysdale set a world record in men’s race at the mark of 16.72 seconds.

To match the medal haul from Haggo and Drysdale; Rafi Solaiman also recorded the time for being the second-best at men’s race to gain the silver medal. With these medals, the total medal tally for Britain at the World Para Athletics Championships is now 29 medals.

At the movement, Britain is finishing at third place on the table of final medal count by being behind China and Brazil.
