Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri VAR could have prevented Ronaldo’s Red Card against Valencia

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said to media that VAR could have easily avoided the Red Card of Cristiano against Valencia if VAR was in use for the Champions League.

According to the reports, Ronaldo had a tussle with Jeison Murillo during the 29th minute inside the box where he put his hand on the back of Murillo’s head. The official sitting behind the goal called it an Offence.

Felix Brych; the referee consulted with his assistant and decided to send Ronaldo off the field.

Ronaldo in utter disbelief and face full of tears left the pitch. On this Allegri maintains his statement that a red card would have been avoided in this situation if UEFA had decided the use of VAR for this European premier club tournament.

Allegri said to media, “I am only saying that VAR would have allowed the referee to make the right decision. I say this because it was the 29th minute of the first half of a tough match and to find yourself along with ten men for a red card; that is just not right”.

He further added to his statement, “the situation could have been very complicated for us but ultimately guys were very good. They played as well as they could until our score was 2-0. After that we focused on our defense and only allowed them few chances on goal but nothing special”.

Although Ronaldo was dismissed from the field, Juventus played marvelously and made a win by 2-0 in the match played at Mestalla Stadium. The two goals were made by Miralem Pjanic  via penalty kicks.
