Memphis Depay says ‘I became a much better player after leaving Manchester United’

Memphis Depay; the Loyd winger says that he has actually became a better player after leaving Manchester United.

Depay was brought to Old Trafford back in 2015 by Louis Van Gaal from boyhood club PSV. His deal at the time was for 27.9 million dollars. He spent a frustrating amount to 19 months at Manchester United in 53 match appearances where he made 7 goals and six assist.

With the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Depay only had lesser appearances of four times in the Premier League. In January Depay made a switch to Ligue 1 side Lyon for a deal of 21.7 million pounds.

Since his move from Manchester to Lyon, who is going to face in the Championship League on Wednesday; Depay has been the regular on the team and has registered 28 goals in his 74 appearances.

Netherlands national Depay told media, “Everyone knows that story between me and Manchester United has not been pretty and I am just happy for the player that I am today. I can look back and say the words that I did not wanted it to go like that; in fact nobody wanted that and I have become a get player since then. I am able to feel he improvement in the games. I mean everybody can see it.”

He father added to his statement, “After one season with United I could not find my place in the team. I was young and I could not find any opportunities. I think that I was not able to put the quality I would put I the first season. I am pretty sure to get good results against Blues”.
